Preferred sources
We prefer original laws, regulator guidance, official statistics and peer-reviewed research over summaries or commercial claims.
Global English, local rules
General concepts are written for a global English-speaking audience. Tax, retirement, credit and consumer-protection rules are jurisdiction-specific; those guides identify the relevant country and date. A rule from one country must not be assumed to apply elsewhere.

Citation and corrections
Article reference lists link to official material for further reading. Examples are distinguished from forecasts, and substantive text revisions change the visible update date.
